Top travel agencies in the US and Canada are looking to recruit top talent for their travel agencies.
Travel agency Topaz, which focuses on military travel, has been working with US military service members for a number of years.
In February, the company announced it had hired six military personnel and is currently looking for new staff.
In a recent interview with US Military Times, the agency said it has seen a significant uptick in military recruiters, particularly those working with military veterans.
The agency’s founder and CEO, David Hockett, said in the interview that he thinks the increase in recruiters comes partly from the military’s changing demographic.
“It’s a new generation that is looking for a different way to spend their money, and this new generation of military recruitrs are interested in taking advantage of their military service,” he said.
He said the military is increasingly focusing on the military-specific industries, such as military aviation and defence, in an effort to attract new recruits.
“The military is the only industry that really does not have a clear identity in terms of how to spend its money, which is why they are constantly looking for other things to do, and that is a really, really good thing,” he added.
The military recruitment industry is currently booming, with companies like Topaz looking to hire the best candidates in order to drive revenue.
Topaz is currently hiring for travel agencies across the US, Canada and Israel, with an opening for a military travel agent in the UK.
In the UK, Topaz has offices in London, Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Aberdeen.
In Israel, Topzaz has an office in Tel Aviv and in Haifa, and Hockets is currently working with the countrys Defence Ministry to attract top talent.
In both the US as well as Canada, the military recruiting industry has been gaining popularity with new recruiters.
In 2016, the US military recruited over 2,000 new military personnel to the US for military service, according to a report from the US Government Accountability Office.
In 2018, the number of US military personnel recruited to the military was over 10,000, up from over 3,000 in 2017.
In 2019, the Defense Department reported that the number, as a percentage of the US population, was down slightly from over 7,000 recruits in 2017, but still more than 10,500, up by nearly 200,000 people.
