HALLMARK CITY, Texas (AP) Gay travelers may be able to travel more freely in Houston if Houston’s LGBT-friendly gay travel agency has its way.
The Houston Chronicle reports that Houston-based Gay Travel Agents has filed a lawsuit against the city, claiming it is being discriminated against by a private company.
The lawsuit claims that the city is not providing the same level of safety and service for gay travelers as it does for heterosexual travelers, according to the Chronicle.
Gay Travel Agents is seeking damages for discrimination and breach of contract.
It also alleges that the company has been unlawfully denied contracts and has violated city contracts.
